The Journey to the Top 100
Nagal’s journey began in 2023 when he played as a player ranked 506 in the world and qualified for the ATP Chennai Open Challenger.
Despite setbacks, including a hip injury in 2021, Nagal persisted and continued to pursue his dream.
His success in Chennai Challenger last year marked the beginning of his resurgence after surgery.

The Historic Achievement
Nagal’s victory in the ATP Chennai Open Challenger on February 12, 2024, saw him rise from 121 to 98 in the ATP rankings.
This achievement marked the first time Nagal entered the top 100 in his career.
Only 10 Indian men have ever reached the top 100 since the introduction of ATP rankings in 1973.
Emotions and Dreams
Nagal expressed his emotions after the match, stating, “It’s every tennis player’s dream to be at least top 100 in the world.” He described the moment as “very emotional” and one he’ll never forget.
