You’ll find a lot of scripture can say similar things and for good reason: when God wants to make a point He really does! Think of our humanity; if we didn’t have the word of God we’d just make it up as we go along and that would be disastrous!
Psalm 1 gives us wise advice: be like a healthy tree planted in the right place (Think of building on the rock again) and both scriptures talk of joy and satisfaction in the word.
Although to my knowledge not a Christian, George Lucas of the Star Wars says ‘there’s two kinds of happiness; there’s pleasure which is temporary and like drugs, you have to keep one upping it for it to work and there’s joy which never goes as high as pleasure but is more healthy and more satisfying overall. Aim for joy.’
Let the word of God become a constant and consistent joy.
